1. Walking
If you’re not quite ready for lots of vigorous movement just yet, gentle walking is a great way to ease your body into moving again. Get the whole family involved and take a long stroll through your favourite park, along the coastline, or by the river.
2. Swimming
The perfect all-body exercise, swimming is a great way to engage your muscles and get your body moving. The twisting motion of your body in the water will help to move air through your organs and reduce feelings of bloating.
3. Ab workout
This Pilates move is great for getting the core engaged again after a few days of overindulgence. Lie on your back with hands behind your neck and legs at 90° to your body, feet pointing up. Contract your stomach in and inhale. Exhale as you gently lower your legs to a 45° angle, slightly raising your head from the floor. Inhale as you return your legs to the starting position and repeat eight times.
4. Apanasana
This yoga pose is perfect for gaining relief from bloating and pains from gas. Lie on your back and inhale as you bring your knees up to meet your chest. Exhale as you hug your knees to your chest, gently rocking from side to side. Stay in this position for between five to ten breaths before you release your knees.
5. Bridge
Inversions are ideal for stimulating abdominal organs and stretching out the body. Lie on the floor and bend your knees, planting your feet flat on the floor. Inhale as you raise your hips up towards the ceiling, hold for five breaths and release your body back to the ground.
