Tidy up 

This might sound like a weird one but hear us out. Tidying your space is a great way to get into a workout mindset. Not only does it give you a sense of achievement which in turn fosters a positive attitude, but it also helps to clear your mind and prepare it for exercise. Tidy space = tidy mind = workout time.

 

Regular challenges 

The great thing about working out from home is that you can do more exercises whenever you have the time. So, on top of your usual workouts, you could add in 20 squats while you’re watching TV or take a quick 15-minute break from work to fit in a HIIT session. Every little helps, so whenever you find yourself with a few minutes to spare, cram in some push-ups or planks to challenge yourself.

 

Build-in days off 

It’s also super important to keep a balance, so make sure that you have at least one rest day a week to avoid over-doing it. Give yourself permission to stop every now and then, or you’ll be in danger of either getting bored of exercise or overly obsessed with it.  

 

Get creative 

Sure, you may not have all the fancy equipment that you usually use at the gym, but don’t let that stop you from working out! Get creative with the things you have in the house and use those to achieve your fitness goals. Two bottles of wine, for example, weigh 2.5kgs so they make perfect weights for arm exercises, or you can make heavier ones with paint tins or shopping bags filled with fruit.

 

Switch it up
